Alert One® provides service Nationwide

Ordering your medical alert system takes about 10 minutes. Most important is the name, address, and phone number of the protected person. You will also need to consider who Alert One will call in an emergency. Many customers have a list of 2-3 names that may include neighbors or nearby relatives. The list may also include your local 911 or other emergency dispatch. Alert One will obtain your local emergency numbers, if needed.

Alert One will also allow you to add a "Notify" list. This list is names of people Alert One will call after help has been dispatched. These people may not be able to provide help, but need to know if an emergency has occurred.

When you order you will also need to provide your initial payment using a credit card or other approved method.

Alert One® accepts Credit Cards and Checks through Automatic Withdrawal (ACH). Three payment options are available to suit your needs, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual.

There is no complicated installation procedure with Alert One®. We ship the medical alarm system to you via FedEx®. Our medical alarms simply plug into an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. Other companies may charge you a substantial installation fee to come plug in their system, but it is often unnecessary. If you do require installation assistance our relationships nationwide often allow us to provide in-home installation. Ask your representative if installation is available in your area.

Yes, an extra transmitter (Personal Help Button) is required for a one time cost of $39.95. The monitoring service fee remains the same. More than one transmitter can be ordered.

Alert One® provides a waterproof necklace transmitter. An optional waterproof wristband transmitter is also available. Please tell your Alert One® representative your preference.

Alert One® also offers an exclusive wall mount help button. This is perfect if you are concerned about a loved one wearing the personal transmitters.

Alert One® is responsible for all service and repair as well as battery replacements at no extra cost.

Your medical alarm and wearable transmitters have a 100% lifetime replacement warranty.

You can easily take the system with you, whether you move permanently or just move back and forth between a summer and winter residence. It is very easy to unplug and re-install. Simply notify Alert One® of your current location. Information can be changed anytime and as many times as needed at no charge.

This is not recommended for changes of less than two weeks.

Alert One® can provide you with a key lockbox that holds a key to your door. The key lockbox is a secure box which easily attaches to your home. Local emergency personnel are given the combination to the lockbox so they can quickly get a key to your home in the event of an emergency. The lockbox can also be used so that family members or friends can readily get a key to your home when necessary. There is a one-time fee for the purchase of the key lockbox.

Yes, information can be changed anytime and as many times as needed at no charge.

Medical alarms may not work with VOIP telephone service. VOIP is often unreliable and could result in the loss of an alarm signal. For this reason Alert One does not offer our service to customer homes with only VOIP service and no traditional analog phone lines.

Common issues with VOIP:

* An alarm system is designed to send its signals over an analog (standard) phone line. To transmit emergency signals properly using VOIP(broadband), the signal must be converted. It is during this conversion that problems develop. Signals can arrive at the medical alarm monitoring station with errors, or not at all.

* A medical alarm typically comes equipped with a back up power supply in the event of a power failure. Because traditional phone lines will still work even if your power is out, your medical alarm monitoring station can still receive the proper signals if you press your button for help. Typically the backup battery will operate about 24 hours. With VOIP, your phone service will not operate during a power failure, preventing any kind of signal transmission from your alarm to the medical alarm service provider.

* VOIP services tend to be more prone to technical issues and dropped calls. Your medical alarm may be communicating vital data to your monitoring station, and a dropped call will obviously interfere with this. Or, your alarm's signal may go through without a problem on one attempt, but will fail on another for no reason.
